Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Last updated:
By using cameradatacalculator.com (the "Site") you agree to the terms below. Please read them — they're short and written in plain English.
What this site is
The Site is a free reference tool that estimates how much storage you'll need for video shoots, based on bitrate data published by camera manufacturers. It is provided as-is for planning and educational purposes.
Accuracy and "no warranty"
We make every reasonable effort to keep figures accurate, including sourcing them directly from manufacturer manuals. We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use of this Site is at your own risk. If a shoot does not go as expected, the Site's operator is not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages.
Affiliate disclosure
This Site participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. When you click a "Recommended storage" link and subsequently purchase a product on Amazon, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. These commissions help keep the calculator free, ad-light, and free of behavioral tracking. We may add additional affiliate partners (such as B&H Photo Video) in the future; if we do, this disclosure will be updated and any new affiliate links will be marked clearly.
Product recommendations reflect our genuine assessment of which cards are widely recommended and well-rated for the listed cameras. Verify card compatibility on the manufacturer's official recommended-media list before purchase.
The Site also accepts voluntary tips via Buy Me a Coffee. Tips are not commissions on purchases and are not solicited or required in exchange for anything on the Site — the calculator and all data remain free regardless of whether you tip. Buy Me a Coffee processes payments under its own terms and privacy policy; we receive a payout net of their platform fees and never see your payment details.
Trademarks and intellectual property
Camera model names, codec names, and recording-format terms (Nikon Z9, Sony FX3, Canon EOS R5 II, N-RAW, R3D NE, ProRes RAW, XAVC, Cinema RAW Light, etc.) are trademarks of their respective owners. We use these names in their ordinary descriptive sense (nominative fair use) to identify the products and formats the Site discusses. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nikon, Sony, Canon, RED Digital Cinema, or Apple.
Bitrate values and other factual data are sourced from manufacturer documentation. Factual information is not copyrightable; the Site presents this data in our own interactive format and does not reproduce manufacturer manuals.
The Site's design, code, and original copy are the property of the Site operator. You may not copy substantial portions of the Site for commercial use without permission, though linking to the Site is welcome and encouraged.
Acceptable use
You may use the Site freely for personal and commercial planning purposes. Please don't (a) scrape the Site to rebuild it elsewhere, (b) attempt to compromise its availability or security, or (c) use it for any unlawful purpose.
External links
The Site contains links to third-party websites (Amazon, camera-manufacturer documentation). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Following an external link is entirely at your own discretion.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally — for example, to reflect new features, additional affiliate partners, or changes in applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate venue under that law.
